| There is a growing concern about power conversion equipment reflecting harmonics back to the source. Ongoing research of the harmonics phenomenon has produced an understanding of its detrimental effects on power generation and distribution equipment, as well as on sensitive electronic gear. EMS has developed a line of three-phase to fifteen-phase power transformers with a "ring secondary" that meets MIL-STD-1399 which limit the input harmonics to 3%. This requirement is now being "enforced" down to power levels as low as 500 watts. Previously, active power factor correction would be used to reduce input current harmonics at lower levels. However, a single poly-phase transformer can replace complicated circuitry, increase reliability and reduce cost where weight is not a crucial concern. As a result of this developing market, EMS is offering a line of Transformer Rectifier Units (TRUs) that combine the transformer, rectifiers and filters in one box
a complete package that can withstand the harshest environments. |

- EMS TRUs designed for Commercial and Military applications are designed to withstand high shock and high vibration environments.
- EMS TRUs can be "designed into" your equipment early in the design stage saving hours of engineering time.
- EMS TRUs can also be designed and manufactured to specifications tailored to your specific application.
